At one point, Reeves told the journalist that a while ago, one of his friends gifted him some cryptocurrencies. He further explained that he had done nothing with the gift like trading or selling. The journalist named Alex Heath explained to the Matrix star that it is called HODLing, which means creating a long-term position with a digital asset.
Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are currently busy promoting the latest installment of the popular franchise named Matrix Resurrection. In addition to asking questions about the movie, the journalists are showing an increasing interest in asking the Matrix cast about the NFT gaming industry and other blockchain innovations.
It is worth noting that the production house behind the Matrix franchise Warner Bros. has recently released 100K unique NFTs to promote the latest installment of the film. The NFTs make use of popular events like blue and red pill and other Matrix characters to entertain the buyers. At present, the Matrix NFT avatars are valued at $50 per token.
Keanu Reeves is not a Big Fan of Metaverse
Verge interviewer Alex Heath asked Reeves about the phenomenon of non-fungible things and the process of digital scarcity. Reeves replied promptly by adding that there are also things that are easily reproduced and chuckled to make his point.
Commenting on all the buzz and media attention around the Metaverse hype created by Facebook, Reeves did not show a lot of enthusiasm. He claimed that it would be great if Metaverse was not developed under the supervision of Facebook. He further claimed that the concept of Metaverse is quite old and expressed general indolence towards the project.
